Tribute Equi-Ferm XL Prebiotic & Probiotic is a microencapsulated supplement in pellet form. It contains a specially selected strain of live yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Researchers chose this strain after screening hundreds in the lab. This yeast improves the bacterial population in the horse’s hindgut. It promotes the growth of beneficial, fiber-digesting bacteria. This increases the digestibility of the entire diet, including forages. Equi-Ferm XL® also stabilizes hindgut pH. It supports beneficial bacteria even during stress or high-sugar and starch (NSC) diets. All Tribute® feeds already include Equi-Ferm XL®. However, we recommend extra supplementation during stress, travel, competition, or poor hay quality. Use it when switching hay, after antibiotics, or when hindgut upset occurs.
